ACI’s 9 Steps to Paint Perfection |

|
It takes nine steps to convert base film, custom acrylic urethane coatings & clear coat into FLX-Paint. Depending on the application, we start with a Urethane, PVC or Fluoropolymer base film. We prep the base film using our proprietary process that creates a permanent chemical bond between the base film & the coatings. Then we coat the base film with our custom blend of premium automotive base coat paint & we do this in a highly controlled production environment |

Gloss levels are rated on a scale of 0
to 100 with 100 looking “as wet as
water”.
Today’s new cars have a 2 mil
clear coat finish that can reach a 99
degree gloss level… even the less
expensive cars have an outstanding clear
coat finish.
To get this perfect finish, the
OEM’s spend big bucks on new paint
facilities … about $100 million … it’s
not cheap but it is the only way to get
the perfect finish that today’s
car buyers expect

FLX-Paint Construction FLX-Paint is a composite film consisting of three layers; film layer, paint layer & clear coat layer. All three layers are physically cross-linked for a composite film that is remarkably durable & stable Film Layer: For our automotive & related markets, the film layer is a super smooth & dimensionally stable high performance 2 mil cast vinyl or urethane film with a pressure sensitive adhesive. ACI tested virtually every film available for a base carrier film, including urethane, acrylic & fluoropolymer films. For these markets, our base films are the perfect carrier for our custom formulated coatings Paint Layer: The coating layer is a modified & blended premium automotive base coat. The coating layer contains the pigments, metallics & pearlescent powders. Kandy colors consist of a base coat & an extra mid coat to add depth. ACI's base coat is a custom formulation with extensive testing to create a paint that can stretch (not an easy trick). Stretchability is fundamental for wrap application Clear Coat Layer: The clear coat layer is a 2 mil premium urethane clear coat. The clear coat provides the wet-as-water gloss & extreme durability. It is impervious to common automotive chemicals & any fuel type. It can be buffed & polished & re-cleared if desired.
